Adopt our science DOORWAY, room 112:
Would your family like to decorate the outside of our door for any of the months listed below? You may choose to do this solo (your family only) or join other families. Mrs. Roy will provide supplies for your creative ideas OR you may bring in your own. It is up to you! The options are endless! You would put your ideas into fruition, after school, in the 2nd week of the months listed:

SCIENCE GUEST SPEAKERS
Mrs. Roy is actively seeking volunteer guest speakers to talk to our sixth grade team on topics related to SCIENCE (i.e. How does this guest use science in their career? Why is science important to our society? How is science used in our community? etc.)
Science topics include:
Real Life Scientific Method Applications
CSI (If you have a law enforcement background, we would LOVE to hear from you)
Life Science (Ecology, Relationships within Ecosystems, etc.)
Physical Science (Matter, Atoms, the Periodic Table of Elements, etc.)
Earth Science (i.e. Rocks, Minerals, Physical/Chemical Weathering, Soil, Fossils, Plate Tectonics, etc.)
"Other" topics related to Science
OTHER Volunteering Opportunities:
*Salmon Tank Water Tester: bring a sample of our library tank water to Pruess Pets, on Tuesdays, to provide water weekly quality data (begins in November and runs through April): Stephanie Hopkins
*Deliver aluminum tabs to the Ronald McDonald house, across from Sparrow Hospital, in Lansing. (Parents usually pick up our tabs on the last Tuesday of the month, listed below. Containers are then returned to our office.)
