Hallway Recycle Centers
Three new DMS hallway recycling centers now encourage students and staff to stop and think about where they should discard items!
1: South West short hallway, on GREEN WAY
2: Western short hallway, on Recycle A Way
3: Eastern short hallway, on Make a Difference Drive
We currently recycle:
plastics (#1 & #2s only), batteries, and paper,
and also accept plastic bags, paper bags, aluminum tabs, and plastic lids.
WHY????? Besides being the right thing to do for our planet, we also help out with other projects around out school.
All plastics (#1 & #2s only) go to Granger.
The batteries are dropped off at DeWitt Township Hall by a volunteer: http://dewitttownship.org/OurEnvironment.aspx
All school paper gets placed into our "Paper Gator."
Clean dry plastic bags and paper bags are donated by some
and reused by others.
Aluminum tabs are collected and donated to the Lansing,
Ronald McDonald House.
All plastic lids are saved for art projects around our school.
Some of these items require parent volunteers for drop off. If you are interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Roy, at 668-3276 or [email protected].
Recycling in the proper bins would help tremendously! Many of our students are finding gum, plastic candy wrappers, pens/pencils, full water containers, coffee cups 1/2 filled with liquid, etc. inside of our parking lot Paper Gator. Students are having to sift through all of this and, at times, feeling pretty frustrated. Thank you for your help with the simple request of only discarding PAPER in our DMS gator!!
