Michigan Green Schools is a non-profit 501(c)3 agency dedicated to assisting all Michigan schools – public and private – achieve environmental goals which include protecting the air, land, water and animals of our state along with world outreach through good ecological practices and the teaching of educational stewardship of students pre-kindergarten through senior high school.
Schools can achieve 'Michigan Green School' status by earning points during the school year. A school that achieves 10 points earns the Green School Award, the Emerald Award is given to schools with 15 points, and the Evergreen Award to the schools who achieve 20 points or more.
Year 1 (2016-17) - "Evergreen" Award Winners!!!!
6th Graders (when they attended Herbison Woods) were the FIRST
Clinton County School to earn a Michigan Green School award.
We earned the "Evergreen" status, the top, elite award!!!
Year 2 (2017-18) - "Evergreen" Award Winners!!!!
6th Graders (when they attended Herbison Woods) earned this award for the 2nd year in a row; we invited
DeWitt High School and Schavey Road to participate in our quest to be GREEN. They earned awards, too.
We are a community of strong and determined Panthers!
Year 3 (2018-19) - "Evergreen" Award Winners!!!!
6th Graders moved to the DeWitt Middle School and earned this award for the THIRD year in a row; our 6th,
7th, and 8th graders are spectacular and super proud leaders, inspiring the all ages to get with it and join in on
the FUN!
Year 4 (2019-20) - "Evergreen" Award Winners!!!!
DeWitt Middle School has earned this award for their stellar conservation efforts!
Mrs. Roy began a district wide GREEN team to continue these efforts in ALL DeWitt Public Schools.
Year 5 (2020-21) - "Evergreen" Award Winners!!!!
For the 5th year in a row, DeWitt Middle School has earned an award for their outstanding performance and
lasting contribution to the conservation and preservation of the environment!!! You are making our Panther community extra proud of you during this pandemic school year!
