Learning Targets and Success Criteria: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c47LfOsH2NEPrlMxG9r4cg_7pvvw7mPj45XTGg5IC3E/edit
Learning Target 1 - I am able to recognize that the global climate is changing.
-Explain how global climate has changed in the last 150 years.
-List several indicators besides temperature increase that are evidence of global climate change.

Bill Nye's Climate Call to Action (3:02): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGI_ZyS7AcA
Learning Target 2 - I am able to identify factors that have caused the rise in global temperature in the last century.
Success Criteria:
-Draw a diagram of the greenhouse effect to show how carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere trap heat and insulate the Earth.
-Understand that volcanoes and solar activity can cause an increase in global temperatures. However, the recent increase in global temperatures does not correspond to the recent activity of volcanoes and the sun.
-Using graphical evidence support the claim that global temperatures have increased as a result of humans burning fossil fuels.

Learning Target 3 - I am able to identify human activities (surface mining, air pollution, trash production/landfills, deforestation/land use practices) and explain how they impact Earth’s systems.
Success Criteria:
-Describe the the problem with the activity.
-List the major contributors to the activities and how it damages the Earth.
-Explain what can be done to lessen the impact of the activity.
-Construct an argument for how increases in human population and per-capita consumption of natural resources impact Earth’s systems.
Human Impact on Ecosystem:

Debris From Japan Tsunami Starting to Wash Ashore in Tofino (2:43): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_jXsb760o4
Learning Target 4 - I recognize that there are repercussions of climate change.
Success Criteria-Give several examples of current and/or future repercussions (impacts) of climate change.
-Design a method for monitoring and minimizing the human impact on the environment.
Identify a problem related to climate change.
Design a method to monitor or minimize human impact related to the identified problem.
Create a diagram or model of your method.
Explain how your method will be cost effective.
Describe how you will know whether your method has been successful, or not.
